Finals week has come and gone and this quarter flew so quick I barely remember details of it. Not only is this my last (official) spring break from school ever, but when we come back it will be my last quarter of college. Where has the time gone?! OMG…
I love all kinds of endings and beginnings. and I love breaks. Although a majority if not all of my breaks will be full of studying and working- I love that we get a break from all classes, homeworks and tests and we have “extra” time to “rest”. Praise the Lord for rest.
Although I’m scheduled to work 4 night shifts next week (overtime baby, woo hoo), I am setting a few goals for myself to fulfill by the end of this Spring ‘break’. Here we go:
1) I want to..

I have about 7 cook books in my possession now (and a recipe-mixer in my iPhone as well) so I want to make good use of it and make something for a change! Hopefully something relatively healthy, low-maint and cheap…
2)

There are seriously so many books I want to read but a few that I’m currently reading. I’m trying to discipline myself and not start 10 books all at once.. but with the few I already have book-marked, I want to at least finish one of them. That’s realistic right?
3)

After getting my BLS/CPR certification 1.5 years ago, I barely touched this. Last week when I was at the gym, I walked passed an AED machine and wondered if I would have the guts to do something if someone needed resuscitation.. I trembled at the thought..
A few months ago a lollicup cashier passed out as he was getting my order and it was pretty scary and I was absolutely useless. Like, seriously useless…like…standing there with my mouth open and staring at him with a blank stare while Eugene was shaking me and telling me to do something kind of useless. Can’t risk doing that again.. :(
Gotta review..
4)

Or at least start studying for my NCLEX. Since I’m planning on taking the test in the beginning of July, I only have about 4 months to study for it at this point. Yipes.. gotta get myself to crack down the books..
5)

I actually really love writing poems. I’m not good at rhyming and I don’t know the technicalities and rhythms and rules of poem-writing but I thoroughly enjoy concentrating the jumbled cries of my heart into a random combination of phrases. Not a gift I have (by any means) but a strange and very random hobby.
I used to write alot during my emo days in middle school and high school, but stopped after I realized how utterly pathetic I made myself sound (HAHA). Hopefully I get to finish (a happy) one by the end of break..
6)

I know I have a few old blenders at home, so I want to find one and start making smoothies! As spring is here and summer is near approaching, I want to find different kinds of smoothies to make :o) A healthy, easy way to get all your daily fruit/vegetable servings in one refreshing cup of joy!
7)

and a wedding-related goal Eugene & I made together was to at the very least set a date for our wedding and find a venue…
which we did, so hooray!

Goal #7 done! Now on to the guest lists..

I love goals. In an effort to live a purposeful, disciplined life, I really feel like one really must depends on goals to have a little bit of structure to our crazy disordered lives// or at least, I do… We’ll see how this goes by the end of next week!
ps. if you haven’t caught on yet, Eugene & I made a blog together! Once we get married we’ll probably both be leaving our blogs to co-join this one, so see our wedding planning details HERE :)
give thanks- my 9 hour day at starbucks, lunch with my mom, encouraging conversations, texts from eugene, free iced coffee refills with my card, hugs and a new stack of lined paper (even if its wide ruled..poop..)
